Award Profile
Awards are available to pursue a full-time Master’s degree in Brand and Fashion Management at Fu Jen Catholic University (FJCU). The program is taught in English.
FJCU is a comprehensive, pontifical university founded in 1925. It is the oldest Catholic, Jesuit-affiliated university in the Chinese-speaking world. The university campus is of urban type and is located in the vicinity of Taipei. The university boasts collaborative exchange programs with top universities worldwide.
The Brand and Fashion Management (BFM) Program is the very first Master’s Degree program of its kind in the greater China and Asia Pacific area. BFM brings in faculty from five colleges, together with adjunct professors who have profound industrial experience and distinctive accomplishments, to provide a comprehensive curriculum to train BFM students in fashion, branding, and new technologies. With the resources from the university as well as industrial connections, the program is able to cultivate students with comprehensive and up-to-date academic training, empathy for the humanities and social care, value-added brand innovation, and interdisciplinary and global perspectives through lectures, practical workshops, invited guest speeches, field trips, and internships in the fashion industry.
The program is designed to cultivate interdisciplinary managers and future leaders from the dimensions of branding, JEV (Journey of Entrepreneurial Venturing), marketing, trends analysis and global fashion and management. In addition, the internationally-focused program covers Marketing, Luxury Brand Management, Lifestyle and Fashion, and Innovation with a Sustainable Future.
The Center of Chinese Language and Culture at Fu Jen Catholic University provides 6 hours of free Chinese lessons every week to foreign students who are interested in learning the language. Furthermore, the Fu Jen campus is also well known for its globalized academic atmosphere with diverse culture brought by international students from over 400 partner universities.
The award is co-sponsored by Fu Jen Catholic University.

Critical Language Enhancement Award
The Critical Language Enhancement Award (CLEA) provides an opportunity for Fulbright U.S. Student Program grantees to receive intensive language study in addition to their research/study grants. The award provides tuition reimbursement for grantees to pursue language training in the host countries. Application for CLEA is made in conjunction with the Fulbright U.S. Student application. However, being awarded a Fulbright U.S. Student grant does not guarantee receipt of CLEA since review of each award is conducted separately and is contingent upon several factors. In Taiwan, only degree-seeking students pursuing Master's studies taught in English will be eligible for CLEA. For additional information and requirements on the award, please see Critical Language Enhancement Award details.
Acceptable Language: Mandarin
Prior Language Study: Prior language study is not required.
Dates and Timing: 16 weeks, beginning from the first semester; the start date of CLEA is the same as the start date of the Master’s degree program award in the fall semester. CLEA recipients will be expected to arrive in the first week of September to begin intensive language with private tutoring arranged by the Foundation for Scholarly Exchange (Fulbright Taiwan). CLEA languages classes will take place through an exclusive, close partnership with FSE-approved language tutors. All instructors are well-trained in TECL pedagogy, and they offer all levels of language instruction from beginner to advanced.
