Current U.S. Student

United States citizens who are currently enrolled in undergraduate or graduate degree programs are eligible to apply. All applicants enrolled in U.S institutions must apply through their home campuses. Find the Fulbright Program Adviser on your campus.

If you are an undergraduate student, you are eligible to apply in the fall of your senior year.  If you are a graduate student, you are eligible as long as you will not have a PhD degree by the application deadline.

U.S. Citizen but not a Student

If you are a U.S. citizen, hold a bachelor’s degree, and do not have a PhD degree, then you are eligible to apply. Non-enrolled applicant should have relatively limited professional experience in the fields (typically 7 years or less) in which they are applying. Candidates with more experience should consider applying for the Fulbright Scholar Program.

The Fulbright U.S. Student Program welcomes applications in the creative and performing arts. Arts candidates for the U.S. Student Program should have relatively limited professional experience in the fields (typically 5 years or less) in which they are applying. Artists with more experience should consider applying for the Fulbright Scholar Program.

Creative & Performing Arts projects fall under the Study/Research grant category and are available in all countries where Study/Research grants are offered. 



U.S. Professor

If you are a U.S. citizen and a professor at a U.S. institution and are interested in applying for a Fulbright Scholar Award, you will need to apply through CIES.

Non U.S. Citizens

Tuition fees: 36,000 EUR (These are the tuition fees for 2019-2020. Fees may vary for the 2020-2021 academic year. Tuition is waived for Fulbright grantees.)

One award is available to pursue a full-time Master's in Management at IE Business School in Madrid, an accelerated and customizable one-year program at one of the world's leading business schools. IE has a multilingual and multicultural student body that comprises students from more than 70 nationalities. In addition, IE is fully accredited by the three leading accreditation agencies in the management education arena: AACSB, EQUIS and AMBA.

Upon successful completion of the Master's Program, graduates will receive a private diploma from the IE Business School. In addition, students are entitled to request the issuance of the Official University Degree upon completion of the Master's Program and fulfillment of applicable requirements.

Candidate Profile

This program is open to recent graduates from all academic backgrounds who have up to two years of work experience when the program begins. This program provides the opportunity to specialize in International Business, Sales and Marketing, Integrated Marketing Communications, or Digital Business. Applicants must demonstrate the capabilities and drive that a Master's in Management requires, together with an understanding of IE’s core values and global mindset.

Applicants are not expected to have a letter of admission/affiliation at time of application, but awards are made conditional upon acceptance by IE no later than February 15, 2020.

Affiliation Fees/Tuition

The Instituto de Empresa (IE) provides full tuition waivers for Fulbright grantees.


Candidates with dual U.S./Spanish citizenship, or candidates residing in Spain at the time of application or anytime thereafter, are not eligible for the Fulbright Program to Spain.
