Chinese Language Programs for Fulbright Critical Language Enhancement Awards
All Fulbright applicants to China who are applying for the Critical Language Enhancement Awards to study Mandarin must apply to one of the language programs listed below. Each Fulbright applicant is responsible for applying directly to the language program(s) of interest in China. Each candidate must meet the language program application deadlines for the fall term (or the CET-Harbin Fulbright Summer Term) and these dates will likely be prior to final notification of the Fulbright Award offer status. All Fulbrighters receiving Critical Language Enhancement Awards to study Mandarin in China will begin their grants in the fall term, except for those who have been accepted into the CET-Harbin Fulbright Summer Term. Summer Term Critical Language Enhancement Award (July – October)
CET-Harbin Fulbright Summer Term
Candidates interested in beginning their Critical Language Enhancement Awards during the summer MUST apply to the CET-Harbin Program. The application deadline is March 1st. In the essay portion of the on-line CET-Harbin application, candidates must include a sentence indicating that they are applying for the “Fulbright Summer Term.” This sentence is critical for applications to be appropriately considered.
There are a limited number of slots for candidates interested in pursuing the Fulbright Summer Term option, so candidates will be considered on a first-come, first-served basis.
