Near East/North Africa



The countries listed are those in which it is anticipated that grants will be available for the 2010-2011 academic year. If the country in which you are interested does not appear, please check with IIE before filing an application.


NEAR EAST/NORTH AFRICA

Research clearances: Candidates are responsible for securing research clearance, as required. In countries with Fulbright Commissions, assistance may be provided .

Multi-country proposals No multi-country proposals are accepted.

Grants not available to: Algeria, Gaza, Iran, Iraq, Libya, Saudi Arabia, Yemen or the West Bank.

Fulbright English Teaching Assistantships are now available to Egypt and Jordan.

Dependents: The basic amount of the Fulbright grant is increased by US$100 per month for grantees with one accompanying dependent and by US$200 for two or more accompanying dependents for the following countries: Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Syria, Tunisia, United Arab Emirates.
