English Teaching Assistantships: Available in Indonesia, Korea, Macau, Malaysia, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam. Knowledge of local language not required prior to arrival. Applicants for English Teaching Assistantships can apply to only one country.

Language requirement: Varies by country. Prior knowledge of the local language may not be required, particularly where language is not commonly taught in the U.S.

Research clearances: Candidates are responsible for securing these as required by the host country.

Multi-country proposals Multi-country applications will not be accepted.

Grants not available to: Brunei, the Cook Islands, Timor-Leste, Myanmar, or Western Samoa.

The countries listed are those in which it is anticipated that grants will be available for the 2010-2011 academic year. If the country in which you are interested does not appear, please check with IIE before filing an application.
