FULBRIGHT FULL GRANTS
Language Proficiency in written and spoken French is required at the time of application.
Grant period 10 months. Fulbright grants will begin between August 2010 and March 2011, subject to the approval of the U.S. Embassy in Bamako.
Affiliation Applicants are responsible for arranging affiliations and for submitting supporting documentation. Possible affiliations include the University of Bamako, one of the several research institutes or international development organizations in Mali, or non-governmental organizations working in rural Mali.
Research clearance The research clearance process should be initiated after a candidate has been notified of selection for a Fulbright award. All requests for research authorization must include the following documents in French: one copy of a research authorization request (Demande d’autorisation de Recherche), addressed to the Director of the National Center for Scientific and Technological Research (Centre National de Recherche Scientifique et Téchnologique) (CNRST); one copy of a current curriculum vitae; one copy of the research project; one copy of the Fulbright grant document and two passport-size photographs. Candidates should send these documents directly to: Directeur, Centre National de Recherche Scientifique et Téchnologique, PB 3052, Bamako, Mali or through the Public Affairs Section, Bamako, U.S. Department of State, 2050 Bamako Pl., Washington DC 20521-2050, for transmittal to the CNRST. At the end of their research period in Mali, candidates are required to submit a final report to the CNRST and to leave duplicate copies of research materials.
Dependents The basic amount of the Fulbright grant is increased by US$200 per month for grantees with one accompanying dependent and by US$300 per month for two or more accompanying dependents..
