THE FULBRIGHT STATEMENT OF GRANT PURPOSE (PROJECT)

- The PROJECT is the principal activity of a Fulbright grant.
- You will describe your proposed PROJECT or grant activities in your Statement of Grant Purpose.
- Developing a strong, feasible and compelling PROJECT is the most important aspect of a successful Fulbright application.

Host Country Affiliation- The AFFILIATION is an educational institution or other sponsoring entity which provides the grantee with in-country support, supervision, and/or access to project resources during the grant period.
- ETA (English Teaching Assistantship) grantees will be assigned a host country AFFILIATION. ETA applicants should not seek an affiliation.
- Study/Research grantees must have a host country AFFILIATION. Study/ Research applicants should seek out and contact potential host country AFFILIATIONS (except as noted in individual Country Summaries.)
- Study/Research applicants should provide documentation of an AFFILIATION with their application.

Community Engagement The primary aim of the Fulbright Program is to further mutual understanding between the people of the United States and other countries. - Becoming involved with your community will contribute significantly to this goal and will enhance your experience in many ways.
- Candidates for all types of grants and at all degree levels should include examples of how they might interact with their host communities through volunteer or extra-curricular activities in their applications.
