Two awards are available to pursue any of the following full-time Masters at the Instituto de Empresa (IE) Business School in Madrid, one of the world’s leading business schools:

IE School of Human Sciences and Technology

     Master in Visual and Digital Media

     Master in Corporate Communication

    Master in Market Research & Consumer Behavior

    Master in Business Analytics & Big Data 

IE has a multilingual and multicultural student body and is fully accredited by the three leading accreditation agencies in the management education arena: AACSB, EQUIS and AMBA.

This award is co-sponsored by the Instituto de Empresa.

Candidate Profile

The Master in Visual & Digital Media and Master in Corporate Communication programs are offered by the IE School of Human Sciences & Technology and are appropriate for recent graduates and young professionals with 2 to 3 years of experience in the fields of Communication, Journalism, Advertising and Marketing. Other backgrounds such as Law, Economics, Political Science, Sociology, Psychology, Business, History, Design or Fine Arts are also welcome.

The Master in Market Research & Consumer Behavior and Master in Business Analytics & Big Data program are offered by the IE School of Human Sciences & Technology and are designed for recent graduates and early to mid-career professionals seeking intense and focused training designed to accelerate their careers. These are interdisciplinary, career-centered Master's programs that develop graduates who have both the specialized expertise required for success in their chosen fields and who possess the professional and leadership skills necessary for navigating the modern workplace. Applicants for these two Master programs must take the GMAT, GRE or the IE Admissions Test.

Additional Information: Basic Spanish language proficiency is strongly recommended at the time of application for all candidates, even though the language of instruction is English.

Applicants are required to apply both for a Fulbright award and for admission to their chosen MA program through the IE website. More information on the IE admissions process can be found at www.ie.edu. Applicants are not expected to have a letter of admission/affiliation at time of Fulbright application, but awards are made conditional upon acceptance by IE no later than February 15, 2018.

Affiliation Fees/Tuition

The Instituto de Empresa (IE) provides full tuition waivers for Fulbright grantees.


Candidates with dual U.S./Spanish citizenship, or candidates residing in Spain at the time of application or anytime thereafter, are not eligible for the Fulbright Program to Spain.

Current U.S. Student

United States citizens who are currently enrolled in undergraduate or graduate degree programs are eligible to apply.  All applicants enrolled in U.S institutions must apply through their home campuses.  Find the Fulbright Program Adviser on your campus.

If you are an undergraduate student you would be eligible to apply in your senior year.  If you are a graduate student you are eligible to apply to most countries as long as you will not have a PhD degree on the application deadline.

Non-U.S. Student

If you are a non-U.S. citizen looking to applying for a Fulbright grant to study in the United States you will apply to the Fulbright Program for Foreign Students in your home country.

U.S. Citizen but not a Student

If you are a U.S. citizen, hold a bachelor’s degree, and do not have a PhD degree then you could be eligible for certain awards within the Fulbright U.S. Student Program.  Please review the program summary for the country where you would like to apply.


The Fulbright U.S. Student Program welcomes applications in the creative and performing arts.  Arts candidates for the U.S. Student Program should have relatively limited professional experience in the fields (typically 5 years or less) in which they are applying.  Artists with more experience should consider applying for Fulbright Scholar Program.

Creative & Performing Arts projects fall under the Study/Research grant category and are available in all countries where Study/Research grants are offered. 



U.S. Professor

If you are a U.S. citizen and a professor at a U.S. institution and are interested in applying for a Fulbright Scholar Award you will need to apply through CIES.

Non U.S. Professor

If you are a non-U.S. citizen and a professor interested in applying for a Fulbright Scholar Award to the United States you would need to apply through the Fulbright Commission or U.S. Embassy in your home country.  Find out more information on the Fulbright Visiting Scholar Program.
